I've often heard the phrase, "Words are powerful," and I wholeheartedly agree. Words are extremely powerful. It's crucial to wield them wisely in our lives. Regardless of age or gender, words evoke emotions and elicit reactions. As kids would say, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me," – this is absolutely incorrect!

A few years ago, I initiated a practice of selecting one word for the FBC Bullard congregation to meditate on throughout the entire calendar year. My hope is that this chosen word would draw us closer in our walk with our Lord and Savior.

For 2024, I've chosen the word "Jesus." As stated in Matthew 1:21, "She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins." Jesus came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10). My prayer for 2024 is that the people of FBC Bullard will daily reflect on Jesus. Meditate on this word, share this word, journal about this word, and speak this word.

May everything we do, say, think, and discuss in 2024 revolve around Jesus!
